The Colombian studio is present at the event in Miami with a catalog that showcases its impressive production capabilities, combining compelling stories produced for streamers, such as Netflix’s recent hit, Simplemente Alicia; with telenovelas, dramas, and entertainment designed for all audiences.

Few Latin American production studios can boast of having a Netflix production that remains in the international top 10 for several weeks, competing against high-end American premieres, and still maintaining its position.
From Colombia, Estudios RCN is one of them, continuing to celebrate the success of Simplemente Alicia. The series, created by Marta Betoldi, was an international hit after its premiere in late 2025, reaching the Netflix Top 10 in several countries.
“Simplemente Alicia was a project we developed several years ago,” Alex Marín, VP of Distribution at Estudios RCN, explained to ttvnews from the current Content Americas event in Miami. “It’s a series that puts an interesting spin on a story that is both about infidelity and not, because she’s in love with both her husbands. And part of the story, spanning 20 episodes, is about a woman and how difficult it is for her to find happiness within two different lives.”
Starring Verónica Orozco, the series tells the story of Alicia, a woman who marries two men (played by Michel Brown and Sebastián Carvajal) simultaneously so she doesn’t have to choose between her two loves, exploring themes of emotional freedom and unconventional relationships with a blend of humor and drama.
“It’s a hit on the platform,” Marín continued. “Netflix invested heavily in its promotion, and having them as a partner is a privilege.”
“Simplemente Alicia is a truly interesting story,” said Juan Pablo Posada, Creative and Production VP of Estudios RCN. “Going back to when I worked at Teleset, I went to Argentina about 20 years ago looking for content. While searching for scripts, Marta (Betoldi) presented me with Simplemente Alicia. But at that time we weren’t making series, only telenovelas, and it didn’t work out. Twenty years later, Marta presented the project to us again, without remembering that we had seen it back then, and we thought it was perfect. And now it’s been a success.”
“It’s a very different story, never told before. A story about a bigamous woman has never been told. That was the secret to making the story a real heart-stopper. We’ve had good feedback, and the series has been in Netflix’s top 10 for several months, with very strong competition,” he emphasized.
Simplemente Alicia is one of several projects that RCN Studios has developed recently and is part of a production strategy based on three strategic pillars.
“We at RCN Studios remain focused on the three pillars of the business,” Marín explained. “The first is producing for our own network. Here, for example, we have the premiere of La casa de los famosos and a new telenovela.”
The executive also highlighted the production of the telenovela Las de siempre, with a modern tone but a classic story; Para seguirte queriendo, a short telenovela that is a continuation of Pa’quererte, set several years later; and a telenovela for the beginning of next year called Ojos que no ven.
“The next focus is creating content for third-party platforms, such as Simplemente Alicia on Netflix, or the third season of Betty, la fea, which we already have ready for Amazon,” he continued. “And the third pillar is production services.”
“I love that we’re creating content that compels the audience to watch, but more than that, to comment and participate. I love mobilizing the audience. When we did Ana de nadie, which is a remake of a series that’s been done several times, our version generated a lot of controversy,” Marin said.
“We have a key strength for our studio, which is that we know how to blend broadcast TV with streaming series very well. We know how to create endearing characters and relevant stories,” Posada concluded.
