The first episode of season two of Caracol Televisión’s fiction series reached 4.9 million viewers and a 35-2% share, becoming the leader of its timeslot.

On Monday, July 8, Mafia Dolls 2 premiered on Caracol TV, reaching a 35.2% share and a 10.0 rating, with 4.9 million viewers, becoming the leader of its timeslot.

After the great success achieved by its first season in front of the national audience and the international market, the protagonists of this story returned to face the consequences of having smiled at the mafia.

In its first season, Mafia Dolls presented, for the first time, the dark world of drug trafficking from a feminine perspective. The audience witnessed the luxuries and excesses of women who share their lives with the most powerful and dangerous mafia bosses. They lived a life of princesses, but they paid dearly for the consequences.

Eight years later, the survivors of this story struggle to leave their past behind and resist in a society that condemns them for having belonged to the mafia. The personal and family dilemmas, the internal conflicts with their principles and the struggle to survive will make them question their lives and lead them to cross the thin line between good and evil.

“Making a second part of a successful series requires creativity, audacity and a lot of talent,” said Dago García, Vice President of Production and Content at Caracol Televisión.

“These were the raw materials of Mafia Dolls 2, a series that achieves a much more plural and interesting look on a problem that has been evolving and of which there are still many things to say in order to feel that it is something understood, assumed and, above all, overcome.”

The series was fimled in an international format with 4K technology and is directed by Andrés Birman, Lucho Orjuela and Juan Carlos Vásquez, with the executive production of Juan Carlos Villamizar.

Lisette Osorio, VP of International Sales, added: “Mafia Dolls is a series that surprised the international market and left its mark, being a pioneer in addressing such a controversial topic from the feminine point of view”.

“Now, with its second season, we present a risky story, enriched by the perspective of five women who struggle to survive the consequences of their actions.”

Mafia Dolls 2 stars Amparo Grisales (Surviving Pablo Escobar: Alias JJ) as Lucrecia, Caterin Escobar (Hermanitas Calle) as Olivia, Carla Giraldo (Loquito Por Ti) as Janeth, Paola Rey (Passion of Gavilanes) as Brenda and Paula Barreto (La Nocturna) as Martha.
