With this move, MFE expands its reach across the Iberian Peninsula and strengthens its position in Europe, where it already operates in Italy, Spain, Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

MFE-MediaForEurope has announced the acquisition of a 32.9% stake in Impresa, one of Portugal’s leading media groups and owner of the SIC television networks, as well as digital and print publications including the weekly Expresso. With this operation, the group led by Pier Silvio Berlusconi adds a sixth European market to its footprint.

The investment does not involve taking control of Impresa but is part of a joint industrial strategy with the Balsemão family, the long-standing shareholders of the Portuguese group. Both companies will begin collaborating immediately in areas such as advertising sales and digital platform development, with the goal of building a long-term project together.

With this move, MFE expands its reach across the Iberian Peninsula and strengthens its position in Europe, where it already operates in Italy, Spain, Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

Pier Silvio Berlusconi, CEO of MFE, highlighted that the alliance will reinforce the group’s commercial presence in a market that major advertisers view as unified between Spain and Portugal. “We will work together to drive new developments, combining entrepreneurial spirit with pragmatism,” he noted.

Francisco Pedro Balsemão, CEO of Impresa, welcomed the agreement and emphasized the strategic alignment between the companies. “We share a vision based on quality content, local production and technological innovation. We are proud to become part of Europe’s leading media group,” he said.

The operation marks another step in MFE’s European expansion strategy, consolidating its presence in key markets across the continent.
