Through this partnership, the companies are launching dubbed versions of the Dutch youth series The First Years, which will make its English debut on October 10, 2025.
Localization studio DubHub announced a new collaboration with Tuvalu Media, Avrotros and OD Media to produce dubbed versions of the hit Dutch teen series The First Years, set to premiere in English on October 10, 2025, on YouTube.
The popular youth series The First Years (Brugklas) is a phenomenon in the Netherlands and will release its first English-dubbed version on YouTube.
Originally launched in 2014 by Avrotros on NPO Zapp, The First Years blends fiction and reality in a format that deeply connects with teenagers. With fourteen seasons and nearly 400 million views on YouTube, it has become one of the most successful shows in Dutch television history.
DubHub will lead the localization and dubbing process using artificial intelligence, while OD Media will handle YouTube strategy and digital distribution to expand the show’s global reach.
The partners aim to surpass one billion cumulative views as they enter new markets.
“The potential to multiply audiences through multilingual YouTube channels is enormous. We’ve followed The First Years since its launch and believe it has strong international potential,” said Fredrik af Malmborg, CEO of DubHub.
Meanwhile, Emiel Neervoort, Managing Director of Tuvalu Media, noted that the series “has already sparked significant interest in international markets” and that “thanks to new dubbing technologies, expanding with localized versions for global audiences is a natural next step.”
