The Kitchen will once again attend the MIFA convention, scheduled for June 8–14, in Annecy, France.
Julie Beneteau, Director of International Sales, will attend, representing The Kitchen’s global team. “This is THE convention of the year in terms of animation. It attracts professionals from around the world and also students, who are looking to get into the industry. There will be over 18,000 participants this year.” Julie detailed.
“The convention is a victim of its own success! Soon, Annecy will not be able to accommodate so many visitors—it’s a small town and there simply won’t be enough room. The scenery is absolutely splendid, but mainly it’s all about the people and what they represent. I love the animation industry. It is a small circle of kind and passionate, very ‘big’ children who are in love with animation. MIFA is definitely my favorite industry event of the year!”.
The Kitchen is always excited to catch up with our clients and fellow vendors. “It is also fascinating to watch showcases from around the world and see how we could help creators make their stories available worldwide,” Julie added.
“As we navigate in a very tough market globally, many producers and distributors have nearly non-existent localization budgets. Nowadays, it is all about being creative and thinking ‘outside of the box’ to find solutions better fit to these types of restricted budgets. That is where The Kitchen has been very proactive!”.
This year, “There will surely be many questions about AI and how we incorporate the technology into our workflows. It is all about educating clients to see how we can use the current AI technology effectively, to fit their specific needs and expectations,” Julie concluded.
