During the last edition of Content Americas in January of this year, Muge Akar, Head of Sales at ATV Distribution, predicted they were going to be announcing new deals in Latin America for The Nightfall, their newest title for that market.
And since then, the Turkish drama has been a hit in Turkey, scoring excellent ratings, a success that led to its first deal in the region with TVN in Panama, as well as another one in Spain.
Now, the Turkish distributor is presenting the title once again at LA Screenings, where it is set to reach new audiences in the region. “We are here presenting The Nightfall”, the executive said to ttvnews in Los Angeles. “It’s doing well locally and internationally. We’ve signed some deals in Latin America, such as Panama, as well as Europe, like in Spain”.
“It’s growing and finding new homes every day, and we are still on season one with this title, still on air in Turkey. We are very happy with The Nightfall, it’s been one of our highlights of the season”, she added.
In addition, ATV Distribution is presenting another new title, Hidden Destiny, which also premiered this season in Turkey. “We have been presenting it almost for the first time here at this market. It has been getting positive feedback from clients. We already have some deals in Europe such as Croatia and Romania, so I think it’s also going to be one of our highlights for this year”, she explained.
Apart from their traditional Turkish dramas, the company is now delving into a new venture, with the distribution of kids content from their channel Minika, which is also part of the Turkuvaz Medya Group.
“It’s called Minika, which means “Little A” in English. It’s in a way ATV’s little channel, you could say. They’re starting to produce more and we formed the catalog for them, so we are also distributing kids animation. It’s a new business for us and we are finding new territories that are already interested in this type of content. We’re excited to bring it to Latin America at LA Screenings”, she concluded.
