Experts in content for kids and family, Canela Kids was present at Natpe Global with the latest developments in its catalog for the international market.

“Canela Kids is an important vertical within Canela Media. Our FAST channel is one of the most viewed on the platform,” began Maggie Salas, director of Canela Kids from Miami, in a conversation with ttvnews. “In terms of AVOD, all of our kids & family content works very well.”

In regard to content for children, Canela Kids looks for productions that, in addition to entertaining, have the added value of also being educational.

“We look for content that has an educational element. But we also want family entertainment,” explained the executive. “That’s why we look for titles like the Mattel, Hasbro, or Moonbug catalog with the Cocomelon phenomenon, for example. But we have also found content in Colombia and Chile, like Renata, a character who recites the multiplication tables and learns in her adventures.”

“For us it is important that Canela Kids be a platform for education,” she continued. “Last year we launched the Learn with Canela Kids initiative, where we put together the programming in a collection that has to do with education. We look for things that teach children and also have that element that can be seen as a family.”

Among the featured productions in the catalog, the executive listed some like Plaza Aventuras, SuperEllas or a new one: ¡Hola Romi!. “This content started with its own format with the host Romina Puga, who has a long career as a journalist. And she came out with her own format in the style of Ms Rachel on Youtube. We put that content on Canela Kids and talked to her to make this program called ¡Hola Romi!.”

“And SuperEllas has a new season coming out in March, supporting Women’s Month, with new characters that we will announce soon. I would definitely love to find that platform or partner that can take SuperEllas outside of Canela Kids,” she concluded.
