Distributed by ATV Distribution, starring Burak Deniz and Su Burcu Yazgı Coskun, The Nightfall has captivated viewers with its mesmerising and engaging storyline.
Since its premiere last September, the drama has become one of the highest-rated TV series in prime time in Turkey, with notable ratings in all categories. In its debut episode, the series reached an average 4.6 rating among total viewers and registered over 10 million views on YouTube.
“The Nightfall is doing quite well in Turkey, we are very happy with the ratings”, Muge Akar, head of Sales at ATV Distribution, said to ttvnews at the current edition of Mip Cancun. “It’s always very competitive in Turkey, so you never know. Even if the story is great, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t. With The Nightfall, we were very lucky”, she explained.
“We planned it well, we started production back in May and June. During the summer, we shot around four or five episodes, and in September when the main season started we were ready to launch it in Turkey. So it was very carefully constructed and tailored for both the international and local market. The cast is a very good match and the story is quite universal. That’s why I think it was successful”, she added.
The Nightfall tells the story of an impossible love stretching from Pamukkale to the Asaf Bey mansion in Istanbul, with its fairytale-like narrative and magnificent cast.
“It has drawn a lot of attention from the international market”, she revealed. “In regards to Latin America, we have good interest from our clients here and we will probably announce new deals after the market. Since it’s quite new necause we launched it at Mipcom and the Latam launch is actually here, we will probably have new announcements after the market.”
