Turkish distributor MediaHub was present once again at Mipcom in Cannes to showcase their catalog of Turkish productions, spanning dramas, comedies and docuseries, aimed at the international market.

“Within this market we have some possibilities for future licensing”, said Elif Turna, Sales and Business Development Manager at MediaHub, who spoke to ttvnews at the event. “It’s been great so far,” she added.

The company is presenting the latest additions to their catalog, led by Alaca, their first production, which the executive said “will be available in more than 10 territorioes”, adding they will be sharing more details soon.

Made up of 120 episodes, the drama follows Alaca, a young and innocent girl born out of an affair between her ruthless Baki and ambitious Emel, who lives unaware of her true origin. Her life takes a dramatic turn when her rich and powerful biological father needs a kidney for her dying daughter. The day Alaca’s kidney is forcefully taken from her becomes the catalyst for her quest for answers, and she discovers that even the love of her life, Kenan, may be concealing the truth from her.

“We are also presenting our new addition to our catalog, Cosmopolis, which is about four teenagers coming from different nationalities, a very interesting drama”, she said.

Produced by Kingset, the five episode series is about four teenage friends of different nationalities, who accidentally fall onto a bag full of money, which spins their world upside down between the safe and secure city of Dubai in which they live and the dangerous mobsters seeking to retrieve their money.

Last but not least, the executive highlighted the company’s docuseries, Stop! Border Control, which showcases the ingenious smuggling techniques and dramatic situations taking place in 15 border checkpoints in Mexico, Brazil, Colombia, Chile, Bolivia and Peru. By land, by air or by sea, agents must control goods and halt illegal currency, human, weapons or drug trafficking.
