Electric Entertainment also announced closing four new multi-territory broadcast and digital rights deals for its popular high-octane crime drama Almost Paradise.

Electric Entertainment, the Los Angeles-based production and distribution company, has announced the launch of ElectricNow Originals, the streaming platform’s own original programming for its AVOD and FAST service.

ElectricNow Originals will add to the extensive offering of more than 3,000 hours of free movies and TV shows currently available on ElectricNow.

Scripted programs launching ElectricNow’s original slate include the 3D animated sci-fi comedy Sloane and The Cosmic Schlep and the half-hour comedy series The Poly Couple. Dean Devlin, CEO of Electric Entertainment, made the announcement.

Dean Devlin states: “Adding original programming is the next logical step for the growth of ElectricNow. We have successfully cultivated a loyal and growing fan base, and we are committed to bringing them more unique and original shows.”

International Deals Closing for Almost Paradise

Electric Entertainment announces it has closed four new broadcast and digital rights deals across multiple territories for its popular high-octane crime drama Almost Paradise, which stars long-time Electric Entertainment collaborator and star, Christian Kane.

The deals include Talpa TV for free TV rights in the Netherlands, WAKO Japan for VOD and TV rights, Eleven Entertainment in Korea for Pay TV and VOD, and blue Entertainment for VOD in French-speaking Switzerland. Sonia Mehandjiyska, Head of International Distribution for Electric Entertainment, announced the deals today.

Sonia Mehandjiyska of Electric comments, “Almost Paradise holds a special place in our hearts; not only does it reflect our CEO, Dean Devlin’s Filipino heritage, but it is also the first TV series to film an entire season in the Philippines, with an all-Filipino crew. We are thrilled that territories continue to acquire this series and are proud that it brings joy and entertainment to viewers worldwide, which is what we strive for with our productions.”

Talpa TV has acquired free TV rights for the Netherlands; Eleven Entertainment has acquired Pay TV and VOD rights for South Korea; WAKO has acquired Free TV, Pay TV, and VOD rights for Japan; and blue Entertainment has acquired SVOD rights for French-speaking Switzerland.

Each deal includes 20 hour-long episodes making up two seasons of the fan-favorite series, which is currently streaming on Amazon’s Freevee in the U.S. Each season consists of 10 episodes.
