The group is present at the event as part of the WAWA Pavilion to showcase the latest additions to its catalogue.
MGE, a distributor and developer of audiovisual content, is coming to Mipcom 2024 as part of the WAWA Pavilion to showcase the latest additions to its catalogue, which include everything from innovative entertainment formats and reality shows to successful productions in the genres of telenovelas, series, films, and documentaries.
“The global content market is in a moment of transformation, and at MGE we firmly believe that the diversity of voices and perspectives is essential to continue innovating and offering content that resonates with audiences around the world. We are very excited to be part of the WAWA pavilion on this occasion, an organization with which we share values and that works tirelessly to promote and support women who are part of the entertainment industry. This year, we come to Mipcom with a robust catalog of productions that not only entertain, but also challenge traditional narratives and proposals, including successful reality show competition and coexistence formats, as well as telenovelas that have reached the highest audience levels in Latin America”, commented Esperanza Garay, CEO of MGE.
Among the titles in the MGE catalogue, there are reality show formats of coexistence and competition such as Brave Land and Win or Serve, and the successful entertainment format The great chef celebrities, which is already in its ninth season in Peru. In addition to its great audience success in Peru, Brave Land, and Win or Serve, both formats developed by the Production Consortium formed by Latina TV and the production company CookingMedia, have already been adapted by Canal 13 in Chile, once again placing the channel at the head of the ratings.
In the telenovela genre, MGE will be presenting South of Love, the co-production between Megamedia and Netflix that was positioned among the 10 most-watched programs on the platform for two consecutive weeks, after its premiere on August 28; Generation 98, one of the telenovelas with the greatest performance and international appeal, which tells the story of a group of schoolmates who, after a reunion twenty-five years later, relive uncomfortable secrets from the past; and Dad in trouble, the successful co-production between Megamedia and Latina TV of Peru, based on the original story Papá a la deriva by Megamedia.
Additionally, and as part of its most recent distribution agreement with La Merced Producciones, MGE will be presenting as part of its new releases the competition docu-reality show, La Pupila, where 15 amateur boxers compete for a prize of one hundred thousand dollars and to become the chosen one to be trained by the current Professional Women’s Boxing World Champion, and to opt to become her successor; and the black comedy film Malas Costumbres, a film that invites us to reflect on the high cost of bad decisions, through the hilarious story of an insurance salesman on the verge of bankruptcy who recruits his depressed brother, on the verge of suicide, to defraud the system, simulate the death of his father who disappeared 20 years ago, and thus collect his large inheritance.
