The distributor’s scripted series Captivated and Tree on a Hill will premiere in the US this year on BritBox.
Leading independent distributor All3Media International has signed a scripted package deal with streaming platform BritBox, for Story Films’ rating winning four-part thriller Captivated and darkly comic crime drama Pren ar y Bryn/ Tree on a Hill from the creator of hit Welsh series Hinterland. Both dramas will be available in the US this year.
From the award-winning producers at Story Films behind The Thief, His Wife and The Canoe and Witness Number 3, Captivated launched earlier this year as one of Channel 5’s top ten shows from January 2023 to date. The four-part series is led by Kara Tointon and Allen Leech. It follows a young mother and her son who find themselves pulled into the orbit of a wealthy businessman who harbours a dark, disturbing secret from his past.
From Fiction Factory, the acclaimed Tree on A Hill/ Pren ar y Bryn is written and created by Hinterland/ Y Gwyll’s Ed Thomas. Recently launching on BBC, this Welsh language six part drama delivers a rich mix of dark humour, unique characters and a touch of the absurd, as it follows the lives of two unlikely heroes’, whose quiet existence is changed in an instant when they find themselves on the wrong side of the law.
