Present in a new edition of LA Screenings, Somos Distribution arrived at the market with a varied catalog of content for the international market, including everything from Turkish dramas to children’s and youth titles.

As a highlight of its offer, Francisco Villanueva, VP and COO of the distributor, highlighted the Turkish drama Bahar, made in conjunction with MISTCO.

“We are working on three titles, which we started working on in January at the events,” the executive began in dialogue with ttvnews. “One is Bahar, a Turkish soap opera with 114 episodes that is being well received. We already closed three territories before this market and we hope to close even more here.”

“The plot is that of the classic Latin American telenovela. The villain is very villainous and the leading man is very gallant. In fact, he manages to make the protagonist fall in love with him twice after she loses her memory of him. It is a beautiful and strong story,” he added.

And beyond Turkish drama, the distributor continues to present youth series, its genre par excellence for the international market.

“We have a 20-episode youth series called Gina Yei, which is a production of Somos Productions, and we are starting to work with broadcast TV channels,” he explained. “And we are starting to show a series that is in post-production called Lucy es el 7, also from Somos Production.”

“Our production team had experience making that type of series, so we got to it. We have a team that handles the music well, how to choose the cast… We had the structure and we started doing it. After the first musical series which was Gina Yei, it was automatic to go look for the second one which is Lucy es el 7”, he concluded.
