Owner of some of the most successful Turkish dramas in the international market, Mediahub has made its way to Los Angeles for a new edition of LA Screenings, ready to celebrate the growth of its catalog, and find even more screens and partners.
One of the distributor’s most recent hits is Broken Lives, which continues to expand its footprint and has made its way to Latin America. “Broken Lives has been one of the most licensed series in our catalog, traveling to over 40 countries worldwide”, Elif Turna, Sales and Business Development Manager at Mediahub, said to ttvnews.
“Recently we have licensed it in Latin America, to a pay TV channel and a digital platform, which we will announce after this market”, she explained. “After each license we are receiving more requests for future licensings and this makes us very happy”.
Another hit title in Mediahub’s catalog is Alaca, a love story that continues to engage audiences worldwide. “So far we have received amazing feedback. We have closed multiple deals in Europe and the Middle East,” she said. “We have ongoing conversations in Latin America and this year we will announce upcoming deals from LatAm and other territories as well”.
“Some of the channels have already started to broadcast Alaca and they have shared with us they’ve received very positive reactions from their audiences, which made us very happy”, she added.
Alaca tells the story of a young and innocent girl born out of an affair between her ruthless Baki and ambitious Emel, who lives unaware of her true origin. Her life takes a dramatic turn when her rich and powerful biological father needs a kidney for her dying daughter. The day Alaca’s kidney is forcefully taken from her becomes the catalyst for her quest for answers, and she discovers that even the love of her life, Kenan, may be concealing the truth from her.
“We have these traditional elements in Alaca, because within the recent feedback that we have collected from clients and friends, they have shared that nowadays the audience likes to see traditional stories, not just modern stories with lots of characters and storylines, they’d like to focus on the main characters and their surroundings. So in Alaca we have created this, a perfect drama story between two young loves and their families. We are very happy about the final results,” she concluded.
