In the ongoing strategy of bringing content to new audiences, Globo announces its offer for AVOD platforms, following a global market trend. The portfolios official launch will take place at the next LA Screenings Independents, to be held in May in California. Video on demand consumption, in the AVOD model, is ad-based.
Recently the company signed an agreement with streaming platform Butaca TV in the United States and Latin America (except Brazil) to release productions such as the telenovelas Rock Story and Caribbean Flower, and series The Cariocas and Merciless. In addition to Butaca TV, Globo productions are also available on Pluto TV and Vix, in Latin America (except Brazil), with increasing content updates.
The portfolio for AVOD platforms also includes works such as A Life Worth Living, telenovela written by Rosane Svartman and Paulo Halm, runners-up in the 2020 Rose DOr Awards; and Gloria Perezs telenovela The Path.
“We are open to new business models, and the agreements with AVOD platforms show how our content is able to reach different customer needs. This is a way to distribute Globos telenovelas and series to new audiences and countries. Our portfolio is very exciting with many different productions, and we hope that more doors will open for new partnerships”, comments Isadora Filpi, Content Distribution & Partnerships.
