The series, which is premiering on the Hispanic network in 2022 and continues the story almost 20 years after its finale, will star its original cast, featuring Mario Cimarro, Danna García, Juan Alfonso Baptista, Natasha Klauss, and Paola Rey.

Telemundo proudly announces the start of production of Pasión de Gavilanes II (Hidden Passion II), now shooting in Colombia.

Set for a 2022 premiere, the iconic series chronicling the passionate, yet tumultuous lives of the Reyes and Elizondo families picks up their narrative almost 20 years after its first season’s worldwide success. Returning from the original cast are stars Mario Cimarro, Danna García, Juan Alfonso Baptista, Natasha Klauss, and Paola Rey, with Zharick León, Kristina Lilley, Carmenza González and Tatiana Jauregui also rejoining the ensemble.

Comprising the new generation of “gavilanes” in the series are Bernardo Flores, Sebastián Osorio and Juan Manuel Restrepo as the charismatic sons of Juan Reyes (Cimarro) and Norma Elizondo (García). Adding their own mark to the legendary town of San Marcos are series newcomers Sergio Goyri, Camila Rojas, Alejandro López, Yare Santana, Jerónimo Cantillo, Germán Quintero, Constanza Hernández, Ángel de Miguel, Boris Schoemann, Jacobo Montalvo, Jhonatan Bedoya, Sebastián Vega, Valeria Caicedo, Katherine Porto, and Álvaro García.

“After the global success of its first season, we are thrilled to kick-off production on ‘Pasion de Gavilanes II’ with so many of our original cast members reuniting after 20 years to continue telling this iconic story,” said Marcos Santana, President, Telemundo Global Studios. “Joined by a new generation of characters who will surely spark the same passion as their predecessors, audiences will enjoy the contemporary revival of this beloved story of love, betrayal and intrigue.”

One of Telemundo’s most popular series ever, Pasión de Gavilanes, offered an unforgettable love story involving the Reyes brothers. Once seeking to avenge the death of their sister by passing themselves off as workers on the Elizondo family’s hacienda, the long-standing rivalry, however, dissipates. Anger turned to romance as the brothers unexpectedly fell in love with the Elizondo sisters.

Now, 20 years later, the Reyes and Elizondos are united as one family, but their hard-won bond is fated to be tested by new challenges. As the families weather the ebb and flow of two decades together, another tragic crime involving the death of a professor rocks the family to its core. As they will discover in the subsequent investigation, evidence points to the sons of one of the couples as possible culprits, triggering a heartrending series of events to prove their innocence.

Shot entirely in Colombia, Pasión de Gavilanes II (Hidden Passion II) is an original Telemundo production written by Julio Jiménez González and Iván Martínez Lozano, and directed by Rodrigo Triana, Sergio Osorio and Camilo Vega, with Telemundo’s Marcos Santana, Karen Barroeta and Harold Sánchez, and CMO’s Clara María Ochoa and Ana Piñeres as executive producers.

The first season of Pasión de Gavilanes premiered in 2003, becoming one of the most successful series of the Network with distribution in over 120 markets across the world.
