After the Netherlands and the United States, Spain will be the third market for this successful format. The eight episodes of the first season will air in 2024.

The fun quiz show The Quiz With Balls, a Talpa Studios format, is coming to Spain through Atresmedia’s Antena 3. The show will be produced at Talpa Studios’ operations center in Holland in collaboration with Spanish production company Warner Bros. The eight episodes of the first season will air in 2024.

This is not the first time Atresmedia has partnered with Talpa Studios, having acquired the popular show The Floor last year. After the Netherlands and the United States, Spain will be the third market for this successful format of The Quiz With Balls.

Carmen Ferreiro, Director of Entertainment Programming at Atresmedia TV, commented that they always look for fresh, innovative formats that fit their television model. “The Quiz With Balls brings together all the characteristics we look for in a quiz show: it’s a fun and innovative program for all audiences.”

Sebastian van Barneveld, Director of Global Distribution at Talpa Studios, noted that last summer, The Quiz With Balls premiered on SBS6 in the Netherlands, where it became an instant hit and was rewarded with an order for a four-episode winter special. “The second season of the show will air on SBS6 later this year, and of course, we are delighted that the format is going international, traveling to the U.S. and now Spain.”

This fun game show features five contestants perched on an elevated platform above a pool, ten exciting questions, and six giant balls. In each episode, a team of five friends, family members, or colleagues compete for a cash prize by answering question after question.

For each question, each team member chooses one of six answer choices. The answer choices are linked to balls, which start rolling when all answers are given. If a player stops on a correct answer, the ball stops just in time. If not, the ball will mercilessly throw the player into the pool. Each question has as many correct answers as there are players left on the platform.

In the case of the first question, that means five correct answers and one incorrect answer. Each player who falls into the pool adds a wrong answer to the following question’s six answer choices. For each team, the key is to stay as complete as possible for as long as possible, as the tenth and final question is worth €25,000.
