iZen Group and Inter Medya have signed an alliance agreement to co-produce content for the US Hispanic, Mexican, and Spanish markets.

Madrid, 14th May 2025. Zebra Producciones, the fiction brand of the iZen Group, has signed a collaboration agreement with the Turkish distributor and production company Inter Medya to co-produce in countries such as US Hispanic, Mexico and Spain. A minimum of three titles will be co-produced in the upcoming year.

This alliance reinforces iZen’s role as an internationally recognized parent group in audiovisual production. “For iZen Group, this agreement with Inter Medya represents a strategic milestone in our vision of bringing high-quality stories beyond borders,” says CEO Sara Fernández-Velasco. “We are proud to collaborate with a partner of Inter Medya’s caliber”.

Amazon Prime Video hosted a press conference from the Cathedral of Burgos to present the long-awaited El Cid, which will premiere on Friday, December 18.

It was attended by the main cast, including Jaime Lorente, José Luis García Pérez, Alicia Sanz, Elia Galera, Carlos Bardem, Lucía Guerrero, Francisco Ortiz, Jaime Olías, Juan Echanove and Juan Fernández, along with José Velasco, co-creator and executive producer of the series, and María José Rodríguez, Head of Spanish Originals, Amazon Studios.

At the event, María José Rodríguez highlighted that Amazon is already preparing a large number of launches for next year, in which the premieres of Spanish originals will be doubled.

Meanwhile, and despite the fact that it was initially announced that El Cid had received the green light for two seasons, it was not confirmed whether the series will return with a second installment.

However, Rodríguez herself pointed out that Amazon’s intention is to make series with many seasons and that the expectation is that El Cid will have several.

El Cid tells the story of Rodrigo «Ruy» Díaz de Vivar, a hero known to all but also one of the most mysterious and complex characters in the history of Spain.

The series accompanies a young Ruy until he becomes a knight, a faithful vassal to the crown and a hero. The story takes place in the 11th century, one of the most fascinating times in the history of Spain, where Christians, Arabs and Jews lived together in the Iberian Peninsula, fighting wars and forging alliances. El Cid is a story of adventure, love, intrigue, betrayal and struggle between those who hold power and those who hold authority.

El Cid is a Zebra production. Sara Fernández-Velasco is the executive producer along with José Velasco, creator of the series along with Luis Arranz, head of the script team.

The series is directed by Marco A. Castillo and Adolfo Martínez Pérez, along with Miguel Alcantud and Arantxa Echevarría. The original soundtrack has been composed by Oscar winner Gustavo Santaolalla (Brokeback Mountain, Babel), and Alfonso González Aguilar, composer of the Oscar-nominated film, Klaus.
