The six-part crime drama, produced in English and Scandinavian languages, is coproduced by Take Two Studios and Sagafilm for Finnish streaming service Ruutu and Icelandic broadcaster Síminn TV.

The series has been acquired by Canal+ in France, NPO in the Netherlands, SBS in Australia, RTV in Slovenia and LTV in Latvia, expanding its international distribution following its launch in Finland and Iceland.

Based on the novels by Satu Rämö, which have sold more than two million copies across 30 territories, Hildur is set in the remote Westfjords region of Iceland. The story follows a detective who, 25 years after her two sisters disappeared on their way home from school, becomes involved in investigating a series of baffling crimes in her hometown.

Joined by Jakob, a Finnish trainee officer looking for a fresh start, and Florian, a German recruit mistakenly assigned to the team, Hildur begins to unravel long-standing mysteries before discovering that they are on the trail of a cunning serial killer.

Ebba Katrín Finnsdóttir, who plays the title character, received the Valkyrie Award at the inaugural edition of the Freyas, the Nordic Film and TV Awards, held last month.

“Hildur is the perfect example of the distinctive Nordic Blue genre: a gripping police thriller that delivers not only crime and mystery, but also explores bigger themes of friendship, family, love, humour and the emotional fallout of loss, all set against the atmospheric backdrop of Iceland’s Westfjords,” said Tim Mutimer, CEO of Cineflix Rights. “Following the series’ success in Finland and Iceland, we’re delighted to be rolling it out internationally with these deals.”

The agreements were negotiated by members of Cineflix Rights’ sales team. Sabrina Ayala, Sales Consultant for Iberia, Italy, French-speaking Europe and French Canada, handled the Canal+ deal. Lucy Rawson, VP of Sales for German-speaking Europe, CEEMEA and the Southern Mediterranean, closed the agreements with RTV and LTV, while Chris Bluett, SVP of Sales for Asia Pacific and Benelux, negotiated the SBS deal. The Netherlands acquisition was brokered by Belgian distributor Lumière, which secured the Benelux rights.

Hildur is a coproduction between Finnish company Take Two Studios and Icelandic producer Sagafilm, in association with IPR.VC. The series is directed by Tinna Hrafnsdóttir (Reykjavik 112, Vigdis, Descendants) and written by head writer Matti Laine (Bordertown, The Paradise) alongside Margret Örnolfsdottir (Trapped, Prisoners).

Executive producers are Sara Norberg and Eero Hietala for Take Two Studios; Kjartan Thor Thordarson and Tjörvi Thorsson for Sagafilm; and Timo Argillander, James Baker and Andrea Scarso for IPR.VC. Cineflix Rights serves as the series’ worldwide distribution partner.

Cineflix Rights has acquired the international rights to Senna: The Last Race, a three-part premium limited series co-produced by Canadian production companies C3 Media and Yap Films.

The project has already secured pre-sales to Warner Bros. Discovery for Latin America, SBS for Australia and Bell Media for Canada, with the deals closed ahead of its official presentation at Mipcom 2026.

Senna: The Last Race examines the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of Brazilian Formula 1 driver Ayrton Senna, who died in 1994 during the San Marino Grand Prix while at the height of his career.

The series reconstructs the investigation that followed the crash and explores the questions that emerged about its causes and the safety conditions in motorsport at the time.

Drawing on access to investigators, friends and eyewitnesses, the production combines first-hand testimony, technical analysis and personal accounts to revisit the events of that fateful weekend and their aftermath.

Beyond the circumstances of the crash, the series examines Senna’s impact on the sport and his legacy. His death prompted significant safety reforms in Formula 1, while his status as one of the most influential figures in motorsport continues decades after his final race.

“Ayrton Senna was a global icon whose life and tragic death touched millions of people around the world, both motorsports fans and the wider public. We anticipate significant interest from international buyers in this premium limited series from two award-winning production companies with extensive experience in the documentary genre,” said Richard Life, SVP Acquisitions and Co-productions at Cineflix Rights.

“That’s why we backed Senna: The Last Race from the start. We are very pleased to have secured pre-sales with Warner Bros. Discovery in Latin America, SBS and Bell Media ahead of its launch at MIPCOM,” he added.

The addition of Senna: The Last Race expands Cineflix Rights’ documentary offering ahead of MIPCOM 2026, reinforcing its focus on premium factual content with international appeal.

Cineflix Rights has acquired a major new three-part premium documentary series from Love Monday TV which draws on hours of never-before-heard, intimate audio recordings to reframe one of the most enduring, iconic narratives of our time.

Diana Unheard (3×60’), which is being coproduced for three major partners in the US, UK, and Australia to mark the 30th anniversary of Diana, Princess of Wales’ tragic death, will launch to international buyers at Mipcom 2026.

Long portrayed primarily through the lens of vulnerability and tragedy, Princess Diana is revealed in these secret recordings as self-aware, determined, and actively shaping her own future. Hours of unheard, unfiltered, and unguarded audio, recorded by the Princess herself during conversations with a close companion, offer audiences her private reflections on identity, resilience, and purpose.

Rather than reinforcing the familiar image of a passive figure defined by circumstance, Diana Unheard reveals a woman at a crossroads: taking brave steps to reshape her own future, and ready to reclaim her legacy, choosing how she wishes to be seen and remembered.

Over three episodes packed with emotion and humour, Diana discusses the key moments of her life, from childhood and marriage to her husband’s long-term affair with the future Queen, Camilla, and her hopes for her own children, Princes William and Harry.

The series also reveals the extraordinary lengths Diana herself went to in order to ensure her story could be heard. She devised a daring plan to have the tapes secretly smuggled out of Kensington Palace, an extraordinary act of courage and one of the biggest risks she ever took. The recordings would ultimately have an explosive impact on the Royal Family, the British establishment, and the world.

Backed by interviews with those who knew her well, this unprecedented series reveals the real Diana, stepping out of history’s shadow and into her own light as she changes the face of the British monarchy forever.

Richard Life, SVP Acquisitions and Co-productions, Cineflix Rights said: “Princess Diana has been the subject of numerous documentaries over the years but what really sets Diana Unheard apart is the unique opportunity to hear several hours of intimate recordings of the Princess—her own story in her own voice at a pivotal point in her life. Thirty years on, Diana remains a global icon and source of endless fascination for viewers. We are thrilled to be representing this premium limited series from Love Monday TV, and look forward to launching it to our international buyers at Mipcom.”

Kerene Barefield, Creative Director, Love Monday TV said: “In making Diana Unheard, we wanted to challenge the narrative that has too often portrayed Diana, Princess of Wales simply as a victim of her circumstances. At the heart of the series are hours of intimate recordings that allow Diana to reclaim her own story, in her own words. With exclusive access to the complete collection of these extraordinary tapes, we hear Diana’s voice with a candour and intimacy that has rarely been heard before. This is Diana not as a passive victim of events, but as a woman taking control of her own narrative and risking everything to make her voice heard. Diana Unheard restores authorship of one of the most scrutinised lives in modern history to the woman at its centre. I’m delighted to be partnering with Cineflix Rights to bring this extraordinary story to audiences around the world.”

Cineflix Rights is ramping up its digital distribution strategy with the announcement today that it has entered into a strategic partnership with Barcelona-headquartered Love TV Channels, which delivers localised thematic TV channels to platforms in 34 countries globally.

The partnership sees Cineflix Rights investing in Love TV Channels’ growth strategy and a commitment to deliver localised versions of some of its biggest global franchises, in return for a stake in the business.

As a result of the deal, Love TV Channels will offer French, Italian, and Spanish versions of an initial 500 hours of content spanning lifestyle, true crime, and nature, with series including Property Brothers, Homicide: Hours to Kill, Holiday Homes in the Sun, Border Security: America’s Front Line, and Inside Taronga Zoo.

Love TV Channels is a fast growing and leading FAST publisher in Europe, currently operating 10 brands and 26 TV channels distributed in 34 countries across Europe, the United States, Australia, and Latin America, reaching more than 25 million households per month on platforms including Samsung TV Plus, Roku, Pluto TV, Titan OS, Amazon Prime Video, LG Channels, Xumo Play, Google TV, Xiaomi TV+, Tivify, Netgem, and in the TV packages of telecom operators such as Orange TV, Vodafone, Free, Masmovil, and O2.

The deal with Love TV Channels builds on Cineflix Rights’ success in rapidly expanding its direct-to-consumer digital business, which currently includes 11 single brand and genre owned-and-operated FAST channels across the US, Canada, and UK, distributed across the leading FAST platforms.

The company also runs 21 YouTube channels and anticipates doubling this number in the next 12 months. Cineflix Rights is also rolling out non-English language versions of its FAST and YouTube channels globally —for example, the Spanish-language channel, Mayday: Catástrofe Aérea.

Mike Gould, SVP Digital, Cineflix Rights said: “Growing our digital distribution business forms a key part of our commercial strategy. We have seen double-digit revenue growth from this activity over the past year and see further potential as we roll out our brands direct-to-consumer through our owned channels as well as in partnerships with other platforms. This deal with Love TV Channels reflects our ability to offer a variety of partnership and financing models to bring some of the world’s biggest television franchises to the widest range of platforms.”

Teresa López, CEO and Co-founder, Love TV Channels added: “We welcome this strategic partnership with Cineflix Rights as an important step in the continued evolution of our company. This collaboration will allow us to offer premium factual entertainment as part of our localized TV channels for the different markets, and we are confident it will contribute to the growth of our thematic TV channels driving higher engagement with our audiences across the different markets.”
