Secuoya Studios has appointed Carla Gómez as Executive Producer and Development Executive.

Her arrival strengthens the company’s creative and production structure in Latin America and reinforces the growth strategy already underway in the region.

In her new role, Gómez will lead the company’s content strategy across the region, taking part in the identification, evaluation and development of original projects, while also overseeing their creative evolution and execution.

Gómez also brings with her the extensive catalogue of IP and projects she developed while leading Cielito Studio, her boutique development company.

Her appointment will further strengthen the studio’s ability to identify new stories and talent across the region and build a content slate closely connected to Latin American audiences, with the potential to travel internationally.

Carla Gómez brings more than two decades of experience in the Latin American audiovisual industry, primarily across original production and content development for streaming platforms and pay TV networks. Over the course of her career, she has worked with the content teams at ViX, HBO and Viacom, as well as with NBCUniversal as a producer, and most recently with Netflix in Colombia as a development consultant.

Among the most notable projects she has worked on as an executive are Los Encantos del Sinvergüenza, an adaptation of the novel by Ángela Becerra starring Manolo Cardona and Carolina Miranda; Isla Brava; El Gallo de Oro, starring Lucero; La Mujer del Diablo, written by Leonardo Padrón; Los Artistas, written by María Dueñas; and María Félix: La Doña, all for ViX. Her credits also include Sierra Madre for HBO Latin America, as well as the youth series Grachi and its U.S. adaptation, Every Witch Way, for Nickelodeon.

Productions developed or overseen by Gómez have received recognition from the NAMIC Vision Awards, Imagen Foundation Awards, Telly Awards, and Kids Choice Awards. She has also built her own catalogue of original content under the Cielito Studio banner.

The high-volume deal, brokered by Catalina Ramirez, VP Sales, of US and Latin America at ITV Studios, incorporates over 60 hours of premium non-scripted content including Worlds Apart (South Shore, part of ITV Studios), Ashley Cain into the Danger Zone (True North Productions), My Mom, Your Dad USA (ITV America), and River Monsters (Icon Films).

Also included is the first season of the RTS Award-nominated Ashley Cain into the Danger Zone (6×60), which sees the former footballer immerse himself in extreme male cultures to explore issues affecting young men born into worlds of criminality. Gabriela Remirez joins as Vice President of Local Original Content in Mexico. Over the past 10 years, she has served as Director of Development at ViX and VIS. Previously, she was Head of Fiction Development at WarnerMedia and Production Manager at HBO Latin America in Mexico. In her new role, she will lead the strategy and development of local productions for Paramount+, bringing a combination of strategic vision and creative expertise, as well as extensive experience managing high-impact projects.

Paloma Álvarez assumes the role of Senior Vice President of Publicity & Communications for Latin America. With a strong background in Entertainment PR, she spent the last eleven years at Netflix across the Publicity, Comms and Marketing functions in the region, holding various leadership positions. A specialist in integrated strategies, Paloma will now lead Publicity & Communications efforts in Latin America for Paramount+ and Pluto TV.

Inter Medya has announced new sales for its Turkish drama Last Summer, further expanding the company’s footprint across Latin America.

The series has been acquired by TVN Panama, where it will air for local audiences, and by Pasiones, which will bring the title to viewers across the US Hispanic.
