Produced by TIMSBI Productions and starring renowned Turkish actors Çağatay Ulusoy and Demet Özdemir, the series continues its unstoppable global momentum.

Since its launch, Eshref Ruya has dominated domestic primetime viewing and captured the attention of international buyers. The newly secured Italian deal marks another milestone in the series’ international expansion, bringing its gripping story to European audiences on Mediaset Italy.

The series has already been licensed to a wide array of key global territories, including Albania, Romania, and several Central and Eastern European (CEE) countries. Produced by O3 Medya for Star TV, My Sweet Lie was one of the top-rated Turkish dramas of its launch season and has since travelled widely around the world. The series stars Furkan Palalı, Aslı Bekiroğlu and Lavinya Ünlüer in a warm, funny and emotionally rich story built around one of the most universal themes of all – parenthood. It follows Nejat, a devoted single father whose small white lie to his young daughter – that her absent mother is away and will one day return – spirals into a life-changing tangle of love, family and second chances when a stranger, Suna, unexpectedly enters their lives.

The deal marks the latest collaboration between Eccho Rights and Mediaset, one of Italy’s leading media groups and a long-standing home for Turkish drama on Italian screens. Mediaset has previously acquired a string of Eccho Rights titles, including My Home My Destiny, Everywhere I Go, Brave and Beautiful and Kurt Seyit and Sura.

The agreement follows last week’s announcement that My Sweet Lie had been acquired by The Walt Disney Company for STAR Life in Portugal, as part of a two-title package alongside Everywhere I Go. Together, the deals underline the accelerating momentum of Turkish drama across major Western European territories, where broadcasters and audiences alike are embracing the genre’s blend of emotional storytelling, strong characters and broad family appeal.

The property has also proven its strength as a travelling format, with local adaptations produced in Greece (Like a Lie, Open TV) and Slovakia (Mom for Rent, Markiza), further evidence of the story’s reach and its resonance with European audiences.

Commissioned by Mediaset following the success of the first two Italian seasons, the show is being produced by RTI in association with Fremantle, alongside Glassman Media, The SpringHill Company and Universal Television Alternative Studio.

Fremantle has announced it will co-produce a new Italian adaptation of The Wall, the hit game show created by LeBron James, Maverick Carter and Andrew Glassman. The new version premiered on July 13 in Canale 5’s access prime time slot, hosted by Max Giusti.

Commissioned by Mediaset following the success of the first two Italian seasons, the show is being produced by RTI in association with Fremantle, alongside Glassman Media, The SpringHill Company and Universal Television Alternative Studio. Jessica Otazua serves as executive producer.

The format retains its signature 40-foot wall, where balls drop unpredictably to determine contestants’ winnings or losses. Each episode features a pair connected by family ties or friendship, who must combine knowledge, trust and strategy for a chance to win the top prize.

The new Italian edition also introduces a twist in the final round with the addition of the “Lucky Ball,” a decisive drop that can either add up to €100,000 to the contestants’ winnings or wipe out their accumulated prize entirely.

Written by Alcides Nogueira, with artistic direction by Jayme Monjardim, the storyline is based on an original concept by Rubem Fonseca, one of Brazil’s most important writers. Rubem is best known for his crime novels, but it was a love story from his own family that led him to write the original concept in partnership with his daughter, Bia Corrêa do Lago. The saga of the protagonists of A Time to Love is inspired by the true adventure of the writer’s grandmother, who left Portugal, leaving her young daughter-Rubem’s mother-with her parents in order to find her great love.

A Time to Love is a story about the power of love, centered on the relationship between Maria Vitória (Vitória Strada) and Inácio (Bruno Cabrerizo). They fall in love at first sight during a procession in the fictional village of Morros Verdes, Portugal, in 1927. She is the daughter of the influential wine and olive oil producer José Augusto Correia Guedes (Tony Ramos). He is a humble young man who makes a living from temporary jobs, such as harvesting grapes.

Several obstacles stand in the way of this love. Among them are Inácio’s departure to Brazil for work, Maria Vitória’s decision to enter a convent after discovering she is pregnant, and the schemes of the story’s villains who, driven by love, justify their manipulations to prevent the couple’s reunion between Portugal and Brazil.
