ONSeries Lisboa and Conecta FICTION, a joint call for projects:

Pitch Short-Form Series

ONSeries Lisboa, together with Conecta FICTION, has launched a call for projects of Pitch Short-Form Series, an opportunity to submit short-form series projects. They are meant to be distributed into different platforms for different devices, suitable for all audiences and less than 25 minutes long.

The registration period is already open and will close on March 16. The semifinalist projects will be announced at the beginning of April 2020.

In order to present a project it is not necessary to have an accreditation and each candidate may submit a maximum of 2 projects. The 10 selected semifinalists will have the opportunity to be presented during a pitching session in front of all the international and local delegates coming to the event. After a process of mentoring, the Editorial Committee will select the 5 finalists that will present their projects in the Pitch Short-Form Series pitching session during Conecta FICTION. These 5 finalists will be announced at the end of May 2020.

The editorial committee responsible for making the selection in this first edition is composed of representatives of international companies and prestigious professionals linked to the production of fiction for television.

Some members of the ONSeries Lisboa 2020 selection committee are: Sened Dhab, Director of Digital Scripted Content at France Televisions (France), Agustín Alonso, Deputy Director of Transmedia and Playz of Radio Televisión Española (Spain), Marcelo Liberini, Digital Vice President at Caracol Televisión (Colombia), Emilio Aliaga, Chief Digital Officer at TV Azteca (Mexico) Anne Santamaría, International Consultant (France) and Pedro Boucherie Mendes, Head of Strategic Planning at SIC (Portugal).

Contest ONideas

ONSeries Lisboa and Conecta FICTION team up for a joint call for series or docuseries projects. Its goal is to promote cooperative efforts for co-production between Spain and Portugal. This call is addressed to authors from both countries, without the need to present their projects through a production company. Only 1 project per author will be accepted and, to register a project, there is no need to get an accreditation neither for ONSeries Lisboa nor for Conecta FICTION.

The deadline for submissions is March 20, 2020. It will be an essential requirement that the project has never been submitted to another event, and that the author resides in Portugal or in Spain.

A jury, composed exclusively of professionals from the Spanish and Portuguese industry, will be responsible for reading and evaluating the projects in order to select the 10 semifinalists that will be presented at the Contest ONideas pitch session in Lisbon. From this pitching, 5 projects will be directly selected for the final of the Contest ONideas in Conecta FICTION, which will be held in Pamplona-Iruña, Spain, from June 22 to 25, 2020.
