The MIP Cancún competition recognizes fiction projects from Latin America, Spain, Portugal and the U.S. Hispanic market, highlighting stories with the potential to reach audiences across borders.

MIP Cancún has announced the winners of the MIP Cancún Scripted Pitch, an initiative designed to foster the development of original fiction projects with international potential and connect creators with prospective financing, production and distribution partners.

The competition attracted nearly 100 series and feature film projects in development from Latin America, Spain, Portugal and the U.S. Hispanic market. The finalists will pitch their projects live before an international jury of leading audiovisual industry professionals and market attendees on Thursday, November 19, at 10:00 a.m. at Moon Palace Resort in Cancun, Mexico.

The finalist projects are Autor Intelectual, by Lab Producciones (Argentina); Enfermera de Noche, by Arttess Productions (USA); Oro Negro, by Koolshiit (USA); Sociedad de Padres, by United Content (Mexico); and Universo M, by Panda Scout – LaDiana (Colombia).

The jury comprised five professionals with extensive experience in content development, production and original programming: Monica Albuquerque, VP of Original Content for Brazil at The Walt Disney Company; Billy Rovzar, CEO of Lemon Studios; Ivan Stoessel, content development expert and creative producer; Gabriela Remirez, VP of Original Content for Mexico at Paramount+; and Iralyn Valera, Director of Future Development at Telemundo Studios.

“The finalists reflect the creativity and diversity of the stories emerging from our markets. In an industry undergoing profound transformation, talent needs more than a great story: it needs to find the right partners to bring it to life. Through the Scripted Pitch, we aim to give visibility to new voices and connect these projects with industry professionals who can help advance their development and international reach,” said María Pérez-Bellière, Director of MIP Cancún.

The launch of this competition is part of MIP Cancún’s ongoing evolution as a key meeting point for the development, financing and monetization of intellectual property in Latin America. Through initiatives such as the Scripted Pitch, the market seeks to strengthen connections between projects at early stages of development and the strategic partners who can support their growth and international expansion.

MIP Cancún brings together producers, buyers, platforms, broadcasters, investors and other audiovisual industry stakeholders each year, providing a platform for fostering new partnerships and business opportunities in the international market.
