The drama premiered on Show TV in Turkey on September 9 to leading ratings.
Calinos Entertainment has acquired the international distribution rights to CNP Film’s new Turkish drama Sevdan Bir Ateş, which premiered on Show TV in Türkiye on September 9 and will be introduced to international buyers under the English title Love in the Ashes.
Starring acclaimed actors Murat Ünalmış (Bitter Lands, Gülcemal) and Özge Özacar (One Love), Love in the Ashes delivered a remarkable ratings jump in its second week, while maintaining its #1 position across all audience categories. The second episode reached 7.42 in Total, 6.82 in AB and 7.88 in ABC1, marking an increase of 3.88 in Total, 4.58 in AB and 5.03 in ABC1 compared to its premiere and further strengthening the series’ standout performance in Türkiye.
Filmed in Cappadocia, the series is directed by Murat Saraçoğlu, whose previous credits include Valley of Hearts, Bitter Lands, Deception and Mrs. Fazilet and Her Daughters. The cast also includes Gökçe Eyüboğlu, Sitare Akbaş and Taner Rumeli.
The story begins on Mirza and Leyla’s wedding day, when Leyla disappears just hours before the ceremony. Seven years later, Mirza is preparing to marry Destan when his seven-month-old nephew Kerem is kidnapped by his father, who is involved in human trafficking.
Mirza travels to Aleppo to find Kerem and his brother-in-law, only to discover Leyla is alive. Determined to bring Leyla and six-year-old Hüma safely back to Cappadocia, Mirza returns home to face an even greater challenge: a battle within his own family.
