Seriesmakers announces a new edition and opens the submission deadline for feature filmmakers venturing into the world of series. The deadline is June 20, 2024. The initiative, part of the Series Mania TV festival, is supported by the European content company Beta Group in collaboration with the prestigious HFF München (University of Television and Film Munich).
In the third edition, a main prize of 50,000 euros will be called the Beta | Kirch Foundation Award. Those interested can apply on the official website.
Following overwhelming industry demand, the program will be open this year to filmmakers who have at least one commercially released feature film and/or have been selected for an official film festival. As before, eligible filmmakers can submit in director-producer or director-screenwriter teams.

Ten teams with an idea for a scripted television series will be selected to participate in this tailored training program. The winning team will be announced during the 2025 Series Mania Forum in Lille, France, and will develop a pilot script and bible for the winning project with additional creative support from Beta’s Content Division.
The Seiesmakers creative initiative is led by Laurence Herszberg, Managing Director of Series Mania, and Koby Gal Raday, Chief Content Officer of Beta Group.

For his part, Laurence Herszberg, CEO of Series Mania, mentioned that the last two editions of Seriesmakers have shown an actual demand from the film industry to enter the world of TV series. “Last year, we received nominations from several new countries and expect even more for 2025. I can’t wait to see the new projects,” he concluded.
